'I got my first ever tattoo and decided to go bold – it's horrified people'

A lad got a new tattoo – and it's pretty safe to say his parents probably won't be impressed.

Many of us have tattoo regrets - whether it's that Playboy bunny on your arm you insisted would stay fashionable, or a drunken inking declaring your love for Benidorm. As we get older, it's common to laser off our questionable body art, get them re-designed, or simply be grateful that we can cover them up with a T-shirt and pretend they never existed.

However, one man desperate for his first tattoo has taken things a little too far - and people say he's going to very quickly regret going under the needle...

Tattoo artist Javi, from California, US, has garnered a whopping 69,000 followers on Instagram thanks to his impressive needlework - which mainly comprising of black and white portrait and floral designs. However, his latest post raised eyebrows for all the wrong reasons.

He showed off a young-looking client who had requested his birth date inked down his face in Roman numerals in a thick bold font. "I believe this is the first time in my career I [have] done a face tatt as someone's first tatto," he captioned the now-viral post. At the time of writing, the video has garnered a staggering 23,000 likes and thousands of comments from baffled viewers - who slammed Javi for doing the tattoo.

"When I was like 19 years old, I was SO close to getting Japanese writing on my cheekbone as my first tattoo," one user wrote. "No artist in my area would do it, and I'm so happy for it now looking back."

Another agreed, commenting: "I hope you tried to talk him out of it. He's gonna regret that the next day." A third added: "Getting your first tattoo on your face is crazy," while a fourth penned: "Imagine wanting a face tattoo so badly the only thing you can think to put on there is your birthday."
